Tutor & Year Head System
Our pastoral care system ensures that every student feels known, supported, and guided throughout their time at St. Bricin’s College. Strong relationships and daily connection are central to student wellbeing and success.
Year Heads
Each year group is led by a Year Head who oversees the wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and academic progress of students. Year Heads work closely with tutors, teachers, parents, and school management to provide support and guidance throughout the school year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring attendance and academic progress.
- Supporting students with personal, social, or wellbeing concerns.
- Communicating with parents and guardians.
- Leading year-group assemblies and wellbeing initiatives.
Tutors
Each class group has a Tutor who meets students each morning for a short check-in. This daily contact helps students stay organised, receive important information, and begin the day positively.
Tutor time focuses on:
- Daily organisation and preparation.
- Wellbeing check-ins.
- Building positive class relationships.
Tutors are often the first point of contact for students seeking guidance or support and work closely with Year Heads to ensure every student feels valued, supported, and connected within the school community.
