Our horticulture students marked St. Brigid’s Day by creating their very own Brídóg dolls from rushes — a beautiful nod to an old Irish tradition.
In the past, communities celebrated the Threshold Rite, where a small rush doll representing St. Brigid was carried from house to house. Families welcomed the Brídóg in the hope that St. Brigid would bless their homes with good health and a fruitful harvest for the year ahead.
A lovely way to keep our heritage alive!
